Is Cat5e fast enough for my network?
Cat5e is rated 1 Gbps at 350 MHz, which covers gigabit internet, office desks and most home networks. For 10 Gbps links or new installs you expect to upgrade, choose Cat6A.
Booted or non-booted: which should I choose?
Booted cables have a molded boot that protects the RJ45 latch and adds strain relief, so they suit desks, devices and ports that get re-patched. Non-booted cables have a smaller connector body that seats cleanly side by side in high-density patch panels and switches. A common practice is non-booted at the panel and booted at the device end.
